Plain-language glossary.

Quick definitions for the modalities, ingredients, and concepts you'll see across our services. No jargon, no hype — just what each thing actually is.

A

ATA

Atmospheres absolute

A unit measuring pressure inside a hyperbaric chamber, where 1.0 ATA equals normal sea-level atmospheric pressure. Mild hyperbaric chambers typically operate around 1.3 ATA — enough to dissolve more oxygen into the blood than normal breathing allows, without the risks associated with deeper medical-grade pressures.

ATP

Adenosine triphosphate

The molecule cells use to store and transfer energy. When you talk about "cellular energy," you're really talking about ATP. Many of the modalities we offer — hyperbaric oxygen, red light, NAD+ — work in part by supporting more efficient ATP production.

B

BIA

Bioelectrical impedance analysis

A non-invasive scan that sends a tiny, painless electrical current through the body to estimate body fat percentage, muscle mass, hydration, and physiological balance. It's the technology behind our BodBody Analyzer — useful for tracking real changes over time that a bathroom scale can't show.

Biohacking

A loose term for using science-informed tools, habits, and technologies to improve how your body and mind perform. In our context, it covers the modalities we offer — hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy, IV nutrition, red light, and so on — used intentionally to support recovery, energy, and long-term wellness.

C

Cryotherapy

Whole-body cryo · WBC

A brief, full-body exposure to extremely cold air — often as low as −285°F — for just a few minutes. The cold triggers an acute recovery response: vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation, reduced inflammation, and a noticeable energy lift. Sessions are short (about 5 minutes) and most people leave feeling more alert.

F

Float Therapy

Sensory deprivation · Floatation

A light- and sound-reduced tank filled with body-temperature water saturated with Epsom salt. The salt lets you float effortlessly, the silence quiets external input, and the lack of sensory load shifts the brain toward a relaxed, theta-state pattern. Sessions run about an hour and produce a kind of mental clarity that's hard to reach any other way.

G

Glutathione

A naturally occurring antioxidant your body produces to neutralize free radicals, support liver detoxification, and help recycle other antioxidants like vitamin C and E. Available as an IV add-on, where it's delivered directly to the bloodstream — useful for people focused on detox support, skin health, or inflammation.

H

HBOT

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy · mHBOT

A therapy where you relax inside a pressurized chamber while breathing oxygen-enriched air. The increased pressure dissolves more oxygen into your blood and tissues than normal breathing allows. Mild HBOT (mHBOT) operates at lower pressures — typically around 1.3 ATA — and is the type used in wellness settings to support recovery, reduce inflammation, and aid tissue repair.

I

Inflammation

The body's natural response to injury, infection, or stress. Acute inflammation is short-term and helpful — it's how the body repairs damage. Chronic inflammation is long-term and unhelpful — it's been linked to a wide range of health issues. Several of our modalities (hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy, red light) are used to support a calmer inflammatory response.

IV Therapy

Intravenous nutrient infusion

Vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients delivered directly into the bloodstream through an IV line. Bypassing the digestive system means the nutrients are absorbed quickly and fully — different from taking the same vitamins as a pill. Sessions typically run about an hour and can be customized with add-ons like NAD+ or glutathione.

M

Microcirculation

Blood flow through the smallest vessels in the body — capillaries, arterioles, and venules. This is where oxygen and nutrients are actually delivered to tissues, and where waste is collected for removal. Modalities like PEMF, photo therapy, and red light are often used to support healthy microcirculation.

Mitochondria

Tiny structures inside almost every cell in your body that produce ATP — the molecule cells use for energy. Mitochondrial health affects almost everything: energy levels, recovery, cognitive function, and aging. Several therapies in the wellness space are aimed at supporting mitochondrial efficiency.

Myers' Cocktail

A classic IV nutrient blend developed by Dr. John Myers in the 1960s. The standard formulation includes B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium. It's often considered a baseline IV — a general wellness drip that supports energy, hydration, and overall nutrient repletion without targeting any single goal.

N

NAD+

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide

A coenzyme found in every cell that's essential for energy production, DNA repair, and healthy aging. NAD+ levels naturally decline with age. Available as an IV infusion or add-on, it's most often associated with longevity, cognitive support, and cellular repair. NAD+ infusions are typically longer than standard IVs (2–4 hours).

Near-Infrared (NIR)

A range of light wavelengths just beyond the visible spectrum (roughly 700–1100 nm) that the body can absorb. NIR penetrates deeper into tissue than visible red light, which is why it's combined with red light in many therapy panels — the two work together at different tissue depths to support cellular function.

P

PEMF

Pulsed electromagnetic field

A therapy that uses low-frequency electromagnetic waves to stimulate cellular activity. The waves pass through the body and interact with cells in ways that can support circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote whole-body recovery. Most clients feel a gentle pulsing sensation — or nothing at all — during a session.

Photobiomodulation (PBM)

Red light therapy · Low-level light therapy

The use of specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support cellular function. The light is absorbed by mitochondria, where it influences ATP production and cellular signaling. Common applications include skin tone, tissue repair, inflammation, and recovery. Different from heat-based therapies — the effect is from light absorption, not warmth.
